Core Values

Johns Manville has four core values that are central to the company and that underlie everything we do. The corporate commitments by which we live are people, safety, ethics, and environmental leadership.

First, we value people. We are committed to treating customers, shareowners, those in our community, and employees with respect, and to living up to our obligations to them. This value is fundamental to all that guides us.

Our second value focuses on safety. We owe it to our employees and to ourselves to provide a safe working environment and to insist that we all abide by safe work practices. All accidents are preventable and we have made our goal the elimination of on-the-job injuries.

We also insist on ethical behavior. Every employee of this company must obey the laws that govern our business, and protects company assets, including proprietary information. Every employee must use company resources responsibly, avoid conflicts of interest, and deal honestly and openly with contractors, suppliers, and others.

Finally, our core values include environmental leadership. We respect the public's concern - our own concern - for health and the environment. We will meet not only all legal environmental requirements but also our own more-rigorous corporate standards as well. We will keep the promise we have made in the name of product stewardship: we will never knowingly make or sell any product which cannot be manufactured or used safely when appropriate work practices are followed.
